How many of you use some sort of accessory for your mobile device?

The shelfs in the shops are full of different headphones, hands-free devices, rechargers for when you are on-the-go and so on..the list is endless.

If you do buy these accessories, how important is it for you that the accessory is the same brand as your  device (costs more) or are you okay with the cheaper version with same functions?

Here is a list of videos on Youtube introducing you to cool extra devices to spice up your phone or tablet;

From products to ecosystems

Products..ecosystems?

We as consumers are used to purchase any mobile device as an separate device which purpouse is to work as an outstanding device.

If you would have gone to a shop let's say 8 years ago to buy a phone, i bet the discussion with the salesperson was about the phone itself, it features, benefits and price.

Today the consumer and the salesperson talks about ecosystems and how the choice of a phone have to consider what computer, tablet and tv the buyer is using.

The phone or the tablet is not anymore an outstanding device, it is the opposit, a part of a bigger enirety, an ecosystem.

This ecosystem where different devices are connected to each other changes, and in my opinion, makes everything a little bit easier.

Even though this system is meant to make it easier to use the devices, i have a problem that i think many users face.

With opportunity comes problems to choose. Let's say u have an iMac, a Nokia Lumia and a Google- based smart tv. Obviously you're screwed.. This is the core of the problem. All big companys that provide these devices and services have good sides. Why do i have to give up for example the phone that i prefer to be able to take advantage of cloud-services, easy syncronizing and so on.

To make everything work, the easiest way is tho choose e.g Nokia or Apple and use only the chosen companys products.

Im sure there are ways to make it work though mixing with the ecosystems but if you think about the regular user, the use have to be easy and no extra installations or modifications should be necessary.

14 years of leadership ended

In the first quarter of this year, Samsung outsold Nokia and became the worlds biggest phone producer.

Samsung sold 88 million phones in the first quarter compared to Nokia's 83 million.
Nokia have been struggling in the last time, specially in the smartphone area. One reason why Nokia is still a very big mobile phone producer is the low-end phone models that are still selling quite good.

When we talk about who is the biggest producer, volume is obviously what matters. From Nokia's PR point of view losing the first place might be a issue but according to specialists the problems stays the same. In the other hand, Samsung is entering a even more successful era, let's see how long its going to last.

Nokia 808 PureView

Wow!? Was my first reaction to the news about Nokia 808 Pureview with the 41mp camera. The phone itself i think, won't be that special as it works with symbian and it looks like the most important thing for this phone was to "show off" with the new camera...What do you think?

Atleast there is soon on the market a phone which have such a good camera that no customers/retailers can complain about the store not having any phones with "real" cameras. For myself 8MP in Nokia Lumia and iPhone 4S is good enough. Another positive thing about the Nokia 808 Pureview is that once the camera is very advanced, the software for the camera in the phone is also great. You can zoom by only moving your finger up/down on the picture. Editing the pictures is made easy and with this Nokia 808 you don't have to move the picture from the phone to the computer to start editing, everything happens with one device.

Q4 2011

In the result of October-Decemeber '11 Nokia succeeded to remain as the biggest cellphone manufacturer in the world.

Samsung had a very good year thanks to their  smartphones, which made the difference between top manufacturer Nokia and Samsung only 4%. This news only tells about the size of the manufacturer and it's not directly related to how good the manufactured phones sold on the market.
